Welcome to CHICHO Foundation – CHarity Initiative for CHildren in Orphanages.
There are currently 22,000 children in care in Bulgaria. Some are disabled and
their parents could not care for them at home, others were abandoned because their
parents could not afford to support them. All of them need attention, education and
rehabilitation to be able to become part of society.
CHICHO Foundation aims to provide short and long-term aid, buying essential
supplies and investing in projects to help children integrate into “real life”.
With your help we can give some more children the chance of a better future.

Current Projects
- At the moment, we are working on our Baba i Vnuche (Granny and Child) project, which will sponsor pensioners from the nearby community to take children during the day and show them life outside the institution. The volunteers will be selected and trained by the Samaritans for free but we will need to give them €100 a month to pay for their expenses. It is a project that will take some time to organise but will be worthwhile for both the kids and the local communities. (Good luck Ilia….)
- We are also sponsoring 2 children with Cerebral Palsy to attend physiotherapy once a week at the Karin Dom Institution. Children with this condition have severe mental and physical problems and benefit greatly from the relief and stimulation provided in these sessions. The 2 children have already been attending for a while but their parents can no longer afford to send them. We will pay for their transport. We have also provided some specialised talking books to help them learn. With more money coming in on a regular basis we can help them to go more often or even help more children to attend.
